2 months old

What a week. I spent the week with Daddy because Mommy went back to work. We had so much fun playing and reading stories. I started to really play with my play gym this week. Daddy got it on video and here it is:

Daddy took me to have lunch with Mommy every day. I really liked seeing Mommy and everyone she works with. Mommy saw lots of babies this week and says that even though some were one month old, they were smaller than me when I was born:) On Thursday I got new casts again. This time Daddy took off my casts at Mommy's work. Mommy weighed me without the casts and I am up to 13 lbs 5 oz. I saw a new orthopedist this week because my regular doctor's wife had a baby. I'll see this new doctor next week too and then I'm back to seeing my regular doctor. On Friday my second cousin, Charles, was born. I'm not the only boy now. Since I'm older than him, I'll have to help him with the world outside of our Mommy's tummies.
Saturday was the holiday party for Mommy's work. I had so much fun. I was one of four babies there. Santa Claus came to the party. He say and danced with the big kids and babies and brought us all presents. Today we went shopping. I love spending time with Mommy and Daddy. Ok, time to hang out in my swing.
Love always,
Heather

Big update!

I know, I know, it's been so long, I've really got to get this blog updated. So much has been going on in my busy little life. Let's see I think the best way to update would be to put everything in a big list:
Halloween-this was really fun, I helped Mommy and Pop-Pop pass out candy to all of the kids. I dressed up as a pea in a pod. The costum was nice and warm.
Nov. 2-Nov.4 I took my first road trip to Bubbie and Pop-Pop's house. On Nov. 3rd I met Mommy and Daddy's friend Dawn. We all had a yummy breakfast. Then, Mommy got her hair cut. I kept pulling on it, and now I can't do that any more. On Nov. 4 it was my cousin Isabella's 4th birthday party. I got to meet Isabella, my Aunt Diana and Uncle Tony, and Tony's Mom, Mrs. Jackie. We had a nice birthday party. Then we had a party at Bubbie and Pop-Pop's house all for me. I got to meet lots of their friends and Mommy and Daddy's friends too. I also got to meet lots of kids, including my friend Dominic. He is about 6 weeks older than me, and his Mommy and my Mommy have been friends since they were little.
Nov. 5-My 1 month check-up at the doctor's office. I was 11 lbs 10 oz., and 23.5 inches long. That's the 95% for both height and weight. The doctor told me that I should be smiling, cooing, and lifting my head in the next month, but I had already been doing that. I had to get blood taken from my foot and a shot, I didn't like them, but the pain didn't last too long.
Nov. 7-I had my follow-up appointment with the orthopedist. He did an ultrasound of my hips, I slept through it, and everything was normal. Then they did an x-ray of my feet. I have something called Congenital Vertical Talus. My ankle bones aren't in the right place and I can't bend my feet down as far as they should be. So the doctor told us that he wants me to have casts. He couldn't do it that day, so we had to go back on Friday Nov. 9 to have my first set of casts to be put on. The casts go from my toes to the tops of my legs. I really didn't like them, they were heavy and made my feet hurt.
Nov. 8-Today I got my pictures taken. The photographer was really nice and the pictures turned our really well. I was sleeping for the pictures. Grandma and Pop came to visit me, they watched me while Mommy was at the eye doctor.
Nov. 9-After I got my casts, we all went up to Daddy's work for lunch. I got to meet some more of Daddy's co-workers that I didn't meet the first time.
Nov. 10-Grandma and Pop helped us buy our new Christmas tree. Then they had to go home to FL. Mommy and Daddy and I went shopping. I was really fussy, and cried so much between the 9th and 10th that I made myself hoarse.
Nov. 11-I turned 6 weeks old
Nov. 13-Mommy had her OB appointment and they said that she didn't have any more restrictions. Yea! Then we went and stopped by Mommy's work to say hi to everyone.
Daddy gave me my very first bottle. I liked having Daddy feed me.
Nov. 14-Mommy had to go back to the eye doctor and so that she could get her new contacts. I don't know why she didn't like me playing with her glasses. Mommy put me in the baby bjorn for the firs time with her. I was fussy, but it was because I was hungry.
Nov. 15-Today Mommy took off my first set of casts. I liked playing in the water, and splashing Mommy and getting her all wet. I was so happy to not have my casts on, but then Mommy took me to the doctor's again and they put new ones on:( It wasn't as bad as the first time. My feet are already chaning a lot. I will need to have surgery on my feet. We don't know exactly when it will be. At the latest I will be 6 months old.
Nov. 16-I had lunch with Mommy, Mrs. Jennifer and my friend Josiah. We both sat at the table in our car seats like big boys. We had lots of fun.
Nov. 17-I got to meet my Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. They came to visit. I also go to go see my Daddy give away money at work.
Nov. 19-Great Grandma and Great Grandpa had to head home to Pittsburgh, but I got to take some pictures with them. That night Mrs. Hannah came over and I met my friend Isaac. He is 7 months old. We had dinner today and I showed him my room. I can't wait until we're bigger and can play more.
Nov. 20-I sat in my bumbo today. Mommy just got it for me. I can't hold me head up all they way, but I think I will really like it. Uncle Paul came to visit. We went grocery shopping and bought our Turkey for thanksgiving.
Nov. 21-Back to the orthopedist for my 3rd set of casts. They are getting better.
Nov. 22-My first Thanksgiving. Lots of food and fun with Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Paul, Bubbie, and Pop-Pop.
Nov. 23-Everyone says that this is an important shopping day, but we didn't go this year. We were too sleepy.
Nov. 24-Today we spent most of the day shopping for Christmas and Hanukkah presents. It was lots of fun. I also went and saw Santa Claus. I was very good. I didn't cry, but I wasn't sure about smiling for him either. Mommy has to scan the picture in so that she can put it on the website.
Nov. 26-Mommy started back at work. Daddy brought me to see Mommy at lunch and dinner time. Daddy is staying with me this week and next week. We are having lots of fun playing together.
Ok, I think that gets us all caught up. I'm planning on keeping back with my schedule of updating everyone weekly on here as well as updating the picture on our photobucket site. Ok it's about time to eat again.
Love always,
Gideon

1 month old!

Can you believe it, I'm one month old already. I'm growing and changing every day. This week I have been smiling more (although I don't let Mommy and Daddy get good pictures of it yet) I have also been cooing too. I love my swing and love to look at my animal friends above the swing. I have also started to try to hit the toys in my bouncette. So much fun.
Mommy says that she is going to update more pictures either today or tomorrow. She has to get them from the camera to the computer and then on the website.
This weekend I got to have lunch with my Uncle Paul, then I got to go shopping with Uncle Paul, Mommy, Daddy, Bubbie, and Mrs. Karen. We had lots of fun. Bubbie bought me some new clothes because it is getting colder outside. It is finally feeling like fall outside.
Today is my first Halloween, but I'm still too little for trick or treating. I am still going to dress-up for the trick or treaters that come visit the house. Daddy has to work tonight, so Pop-Pop is coming to help me hand out the candy. Well since it is going to be a busy night tonight, I'd better take a nap.
Love always,
Gideon

3 weeks old

I'm 3 weeks old now. Mommy can't believe how fast I am growing up and changing every day. This week was Daddy's first full week back to work. I stayed home with Mommy and Holly during the day, and then Daddy would spend some special time with me at night.
Mommy's friend Corey came to visit me this week. The grown-ups ate dinner together and talked. I like having visitors.
I am already awake more during the day. I like to look around and watch lights. Mommy makes sure I have tummy time and have started playing with my cool gyms this week. I also have started to watch my toys on my swing.
Mommy and Daddy took me to the bone doctor last week. He was very nice, and he gave me exercises that Mommy and Daddy help me with to stretch my feet. I go back to see him in 3 weeks so that he can see my progress. They are going to do an ultrasound of my hips because Mommy was born with hip problems. The doctor will also see if I need them to take pictures of the bones in my feet.
This weekend I got to meet my Uncle Mike, Aunt Cindy, and cousins Susie and Michael. Michael and I are going to have so much fun together when I get a little bit older. We are going to play with stuff like Spiderman, trains, and the Incredibles, not like the princess stuff that our girl cousins like.
I also got to meet Mrs. Karen on Saturday. She was one of Mommy and Daddy's teachers when they were in school, and she is friends with Bubbie and Pop-pop as well. She brought Bubbie over, then she had to go home because she was tired. I will get to see her more soon. Then on Sunday Pop-pop came over to visit. I liked spending the day with Bubbie and Pop-pop.
I think I'm going to go hang out in my swing while I wait for Daddy to get home from work.
Love always,
Gideon

2 weeks!

Can you believe that I am already over 2 weeks old? Wow, I have been having so much fun outside of Mommy's tummy. There is so much more room for me to grow and play. I like being home much better than being in the hospital. At the hospital they kept doing things like checking my temperature and weighing me and all kinds of silly stuff. I had my first doctors appointment on Oct. 4th, 2 days after being out of the hospital. The day I left the hospital I weighed 7 lbs, 7 oz. The day of my doctors appointment I weighed 7 lbs 3 oz. The doctor wasn't really worried too much. Mommy and Daddy told them that I was fussy the day before and was having trouble eating, so the doctor wanted me to come back on Oct. 6th. He said that he really wanted to see me gain 2 oz, but would be ok if it was only 1 oz. Well I made sure to show them I could do it and I gained 9 oz and was 7 lbs 12 oz. I was over my discharge weight. So they were very happy. I didn't need to see the doctor and don't have to go back until I am 1 month old. Oct. 4th Mommy went to the doctor too, they took out her staples. She has been feeling very good. I have been doing just what my doctor told me to do eat, sleep, and poop. Guess how many diapers I have made Mommy and Daddy change since they got me home from the hospital, over 160! I'm making sure that they are getting really good at it fast. I have also made sure that Mommy's washing machine is getting a good work out and that she can test all kinds of stain removers. I have made sure Mommy really feels like a Mommy too. I have peed on her (a couple of times), pooped on her, and spit up on her. I have also peed on Daddy and hit Holly one day, not to mention myself.
My first two weeks Daddy was able to stay home with Mommy and I. I really liked it. He is now back at work, but I am very happy when he comes home. I also talk to him on the phone at lunch time.
I have been able to meet all kinds of people. I have met my Bubbie, Pop-Pop, Uncle Paul, Grandma, and Pop. I have already been out to resturants, been to the outlets, been to the mall, go to Target, and the library.
This past weekend I got to go to a naming ceremony for my friend Mason. Our Mommies work together and we will be in daycare together. The ceremony was very nice. He was born 2 days before me, isn't that really neat.
Then on Sunday I got to meet my friend Josiah. His Mommy and Daddy brought him over, and guess what the two of us did, we just slept. Our Mommies thought it was funny.
Well it's about time for me to go hang out in my swing and take a nap. After all my diaper is clean and my belly is full:)
Love always,
Gideon
PS Mommy will update pictures soon.

I'm finally here

I'm here. I came out of Mommy's tummy on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 4:36am. I weighed 8 lbs 2.5 oz., and was 21.5 inches long. We got home yesterday afternoon. Mommy will post pictures later today, and try to post more details for everyone as well.
Love always,
Gideon
PS I really got everyone, no one won my poll, I didn't even put the week of the 30th as a choice, he-he.

Induction Day

Well here it is Saturday morning, and I'm still in Mommy's tummy. It's just so warm and cozy in here. But Mommy says that they have waited long enough and it's time for me to make my grand entrance. So, in just a few hours Mommy and Daddy will head to the hospital and Mommy will be induced. Mommy hopes that I will cooperate and things will go quickly and smoothly and that she will be able to hold me soon. Mommy and Daddy can't wait to meet me and I can't wait to meet them as well as all of the rest of our friends and family. Daddy is going to take a picture of Mommy's tummy this morning before they leave today so that one day I can see how big my Mommy's tummy was. When we are released from the hospital Mommy will make sure to update the blog with all of my important statistics and of course pictures.
Love always,
Gideon

Autumn Baby

Well I'm still in Mommy's tummy. It is just so nice in here. I have also decided that even though Mommy has been telling me for months that it would be fun to be a summer baby, I have decided I want to be an autumn baby just like my Mommy. Mommy had another non-stress test at her doctors appointment this morning. Today it didn't bother me as much as last time. I even fell asleep during the test and they had to wake me up, but everything looks good. If I don't come on my own this week, then the doctor is going to induce Mommy on Saturday morning. Mommy says that now that I have an eviction notice, maybe I'll decide that it is better if I just come on my own.
Mommy is very itchy and I don't like it when she scratches her tummy. Mommy has a rash called PUPPP. It is a rash of pregnancy, most common in first time Mommies, and more common when they are pregnant with boys (like me.) The rash started on her tummy but now it is on her legs and arms too. So she is taking lots of showers, and using lots of creams.
There is another reason why Mommy can't wait for me to be born. Mommy wants to take me to see my Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. My Great Grandma had to have surgery on her heart last week. She is very strong, and Mommy wants to take me to meet her as soon as Mommy's doctor, my doctor, and Great Grandma's doctor say that it is OK.
Mommy says that she is pretty much done nesting and now is just waiting for me to arrive. So this week Mommy and Daddy will probably just try to take it easy in the quiet before my arrival. I will have Mommy update everyone if we have any changes.
Love always,
Gideon

Due date

Today is my due date. Mommy thinks that I will be fasionably late though. Yesterday Mommy had a doctors appointment. Her blood pressure was a little high, so they told her that she has to stay home with me and no more work as of yesterday afternoon. So she saw a few patients yesterday morning, had lunch, and then had to go back to the doctors for a test called a non-stress test. They hooked Mommy's belly up to monitors. One of them monitored my heartrate. Then they gave Mommy a button to push everytime she felt me move. I didn't like the monitor and tried to kick it and wiggle so that they would take it off. Everything looked perfect with the test. The purpose of the test is to make sure that my heartrate goes up when I move around, just like when you exercise. My resting heartrate was in the 140s, when I move it went up to the 160s.
Mommy and Daddy have been busy getting things ready for me in the house. Because Mommy is taking it easy Daddy has been working very hard to help Mommy. Over the last two days he has pretty much got us all caught up on laundry, and has been doing some cleaning too. Of course he has also been taking care of Mommy and I too. I love my Daddy so much. Hopefully we will have another blog entry really soon that annouces my arrival.
Love always,
Gideon

39 weeks-almost there

Well we're heading into my last few weeks. Mommy slowed down at work last week. She sees patient's every 30 minutes rather than every 15 minutes. Then she can go into her office and put her feet up in between seeing patients. Next week they will take it day by day and she will probably only work part-time.
I still like being in Mommy's tummy, but it's getting a little tight in here. Daddy has been reading me some really good books and singing me songs. He sings some really silly songs to me.
Last weekend Pop-Pop and Daddy finished up my room. One wall even has my name on it now! I'll tell Mommy to take some more pictures of it. The only thing left is my glider. Mommy's friend Mrs. Susie is making it match the room for me. Isn't that really cool. I feel very special.
Mommy's friends keep telling her that they can't wait to meet me. I can't wait to meet them either. Daddy's friends keep asking about me too, as well as the family. So many new people to meet, but not yet. I'm having too much fun in Mommy's tummy!
Love always,
Gideon

Full term!

We're 38 weeks now, this means that we are offically full term! I could be here any day now. Mommy's friend Corey came into work today and told her that she had a dream that Mommy called her this morning to say that I was on my way. Boy doesn't Mommy wish that were true. Mommy and Daddy had a really nice three day weekend. Daddy didn't have to work all weekend. They did some cleaning, but spent some nice time relaxing and talking to me. On Monday Mommy, Daddy, and Holly went for a walk. They were teaching Holly about how to walk with the stroller. Some of Mommy and Daddy's neighbors thought that they forgot the baby because nothing was in the stroller. They didn't forget me, I am just still in Mommy's tummy. I can't wait to go on walks with them in the stroller in the fall. This week Mommy's schedule has slowed down, but boy does she feel just as busy. I have been really silly this week. I thought that it would be fun to be awake at night and sleep during the day. Mommy hopes I switch my schedule back again before my arrival. We'll see;)
Yesterday was Uncle Paul's birthday. Mommy and Daddy took him to a Japenese steak house. They all had a lot of fun. I can't wait until I am big enough to go too.
Mommy is going to go check on Daddy now, he's working on something for my room. I can't wait to see it.
Love always,
Gideon

36-37 weeks

Ok, so better late then never, right. Mommy, Daddy, and I have been very busy. We totally forgot about updating everyone on here. No, I'm still in Mommy's tummy and having a great time. So much has been going on in the last few weeks. On Monday Aug. 20th, Daddy's co-workers surprised him with a baby shower. They had a cake and decorations and everything. The cake said "Congratulations Daddy Jon" Daddy said that he took pictures, but Mommy still hasn't seen them. His co-workers got me lots of nice things. I can't wait to meet them. Daddy is going to dress me up to look just like him the first time he takes me to work.
Then on Thursday Aug. 23 we all drove to Stephen's City to see Mrs. Jennifer, Mr. Jeremy and my friend Josiah. He is a very cute baby. When Mommy was holding Josiah he got hungry and was crying. I started wiggling around and to let him know that it would be ok, and that I can't wait until we can play together.
The next day, Mommy's co-workers surprised her with a baby shower. They had one of Mommy's drug rep. friends invite her out to dinner to talk about the new diabetes information. When Mommy got to the resturant, they had a backroom all decorated for the party. Mommy shared the party with her other co-worker Stacy. Stacy is going to have a little boy too, her baby is going to be born in Oct. We had lots of fun with games, prizes, food, and yummy cake. Mommy got some really nice things for me. Daddy says that we have lots of diapers and wipes now. Hey, I'm planning on using them for a while.
Mommy had another doctor's appointment this week, and everything looks good. Mommy goes every week now, and has all her appointments scheduled until Sept. 17th.
Mommy had a very busy week at work. I kept hearing about silly computers and something called a server. Sometimes Mommy used her computer and sometimes she had to use paper and write everything down. I don't understand all of it. I just know that everyone asks Mommy when I am going to be born, and it's really funny because I'm the only one that knows that.
Mommy and Daddy are going to work really hard this weekend trying to get everything ready for me. Mommy wants the house spotless before I arrive. Doesn't she know that when I get here I'm just going to make it dirty again.
Mommy thinks I might come a little early. This week I moved lower in Mommy's tummy. Mommy says that now she can breath a lot better. Pop-pop says that he wants to play with me soon, but that I'm supposed to wait until after this weekend to make my grand entrance because he and Bubbie, and some of their friends are in NC. I think I can do that for him:)
Well I'm using Mommy's bladder as a waterbed again, so I guess I'll let her go potty.
Love always,
Gideon

Hiccups

We're at 35 weeks this week. At Mommy's appointment Monday I was still in the head down position. I didn't really like the appointment though. When they went to find me heart beat I started kicking at the machine. Mommy and the the NP thought it was silly.
Mommy and Daddy are very proud of me. I am practicing my swallowing and breathing. How do they know this, well it's because I get the hiccups. I've been getting them almost every day for the last few weeks. I will also respond to Daddy's voice when he talks to me. He reads me fun stories.
Holly is getting ready for me to play. She will bump my swing with her nose and she puts her ball in my bounchette. I think that it will be a little while before I can play with her, but she'll be ready when I'm ready.
Mommy and Daddy are still busy getting things done for me. They only have a few more weeks to go. Most of the things on the list, if they aren't done before I get here then it should be ok. On Monday Mommy and Daddy went to their breastfeeding class. They learned all about feeding me. I'll make sure to let them know if they are doing things right;)
Only 5 more weeks to go!
Love always,
Gideon

Exciting News!

I almost forgot, I got exciting news this week. On Saturday my friend Josiah was born. When Daddy told me, I got really excited and started kicking and wiggling around. I can't wait until we can play together. Since he's older than me he'll be able to show me the ropes:) Mommy saw pictures and he looks very happy. He has such a wonderful Mommy and Daddy. I can't wait to meet them either, but I guess I have a wait a few more weeks, at least I am having fun in Mommy's tummy.

34 weeks!

We have a lot to catch up on. We missed our blog last week. Mommy remembered over the weekend and decided it was just as easy to wait until today and just do two weeks. On the 28th Mommy and Daddy got their pictures taken together with me in Mommy's belly being the focus. They had a lot of fun and will pick them up later this week. On the 29th Mommy and Daddy had lunch with their friends Ms. Amy and Mr. James. Mommy and Ms. Amy lived together when they were in college. They had a really yummy lunch and a fun time. I can't wait to meet them in person. Then Mommy and Daddy went to see Uncle Paul, Bubbie and Pop-Pop in Frederick. Uncle Paul showed Daddy and Pop-Pop how to play games on his Wii. They sounded like they were having a lot of fun. On the 31st Mommy had a doctor's appointment. She got her official labor instructions, and when they checked on me they said I was head down. Yea! I do kind of like using Mommy's bladder as a water pillow. He-he. Mommy's next appointment will be next week, and then she will go every week until I make my grand entrance. Isn't that so exciting.
Last week Mommy and Daddy were busy getting ready for company. Gramma and Pop came up for a visit on Thursday. We have been having lots of fun. On Friday we were shopping at the outlets and then went out to dinner. Uncle Paul came too. We playing trivia games, they sounded like they were having fun. I got so excited I kept giving Mommy reflux:) On Saturday they spent the day in Winchester, they did some shopping there too. Then they went to Great Uncle Dennis and Great Aunt Christy's house for a graduation party for Chris. He will be going away to college soon. We got to see lots of family including Great Grampa. I'm getting so excited about meeting everyone. On Sunday we got to see Uncle Mike, Aunt Cindy, Michael and Susie on their way to the mountains. We are going to have a lot of fun playing when I am born. Then we went to the movies to see Hairspray. I really liked the music. Mommy took me to see it on Broadway in April, and I really liked it then too. Mommy says that she will put the music in my icrib so that I can dance to it:) Sunday we also toured the Family Birthing Center at the hospital. That is where I will be born. Daddy is worried that he won't know where to go to get Mommy there, but she's not worried. Yesterday Daddy and Pop put together a new bookshelf for my room. It's a little bigger than my other one, and now I have more room for my books. I love it when Daddy reads to me.
That's our updates. Only 6 more weeks to go! Time sure is flying.
Love always,
Gideon

32 weeks!

Yea, 32 weeks! Why are Mommy and Daddy so excited about 32 weeks? Well it's because if I am born today then I will get to stay at Washington County Hospital and be close to Mommy and Daddy. If I had been earlier than today then they would have said I'm too early and I would have to ride in a helicopter down to Baltimore. Mommy still says that I should stay inside her tummy for a few more weeks though, it's much safer inside of her than at the hospital. Mommy and Daddy had their prepared childbirth weekend this past weekend. They learned all about giving me baths, and CPR and choking. They also learned about relaxation and breathing, and labor. Right now I'm still having fun playing in Mommy's tummy. I really like transverse and breech positions. If I'm like Mommy and stay breech Mommy might have to have a C-Section. Daddy says that if Mommy has to have a C-Section he hopes that it is planned and not an emergency. If it is planned he gets to stay in the OR with Mommy, if it is an emergency that he can't be in the OR with Mommy.
Uncle Paul came over on Sunday. He and Daddy picked out some cool toys for me to play with at Target. I am surprised that they didn't set them up and start playing with them when they got home.
Mommy got to see my friend Emma yesterday. Her Mommy brought her to work. She didn't stay too long, because she looked tired. She is very pretty. My friend Josiah is still having fun in his Mommy's tummy. He is due next week, but us babies have our own schedules and we don't let anyone know what is up:)
Time for some playtime.
Love always,
Gideon

31 weeks

We're down to single digits now. Just under 9 more weeks to go. Mommy and Daddy had a very busy weekend. Friday was Mommy and Daddy's 4th wedding anniversary. Daddy bought Mommy very pretty flowers. Then on Saturday, my Aunt Diana threw my Mommy a beautiful baby shower. There were lots of friends, family, and food. Yummy. Mommy and Daddy were blessed with wonderful gifts. Now Mommy and Daddy have to find a place for everything. Mommy has been having fun doing my laundry and organizing all of my little things. On Sunday we got to spend the morning with my Great Grandma and Great Grandpa, then we went to church. I wanted to be able to go up front when they called for the kids. Mommy took me swimming at Mrs. Karen and Mr. Tim's house. I really like swimming. Mommy is going to sign my up for swimming lessons when I am 6 months old. It sounds like fun.
Monday Mommy had a doctors appt., now appointments are every 2 weeks. I am having fun growing in Mommy's tummy. I was acting silly at work today and wiggling all over the place.
Well it is getting late, and we are waiting for Daddy to get home from work. I think that it is time for bed now.
Love always,
Gideon

30 weeks

Here we are with only 10 more weeks to go, we're 3/4 of the way there. It seems like only yesterday that we were saying we're half way there and Mommy and Daddy found out that I am a boy. Mommy still says that there are lots that need to be done around here before my big arrival. I'm not too picky about most of it, as long as I have a comfy place to sleep, and I'm with Mommy, Daddy, and Holly I will be happy.
Saturday Mommy, Daddy, and Holly took Mac and Clover home. I got to see Bubbie and Pop-Pop. On Sunday morning, I showed them how I like to dance. Then I went to the movies with Aunt Diana, Isabella, Gramma and Pop. I liked the popcorn and Daddy says that he can't wait until I'm bigger so that we can go to the movies together. Then Mommy went to a party for my friend Dominic. Dominic should be born in the middle of August. Dominic's Mommy and my Mommy have been friends since they were about 7 years old, that's a really long time.
On Monday Mommy and Daddy went to tour the daycare where they will take me while they go to work. They said that it looked really nice, and I liked it because I didn't hear any upset babies. I think that I will make a lot of friends there.
Daddy says that he wants Mommy to watch Lost now, so I'd better let her go.

Gideon

29 weeks

Wow, it has been a pretty exciting week. On Saturday, June 30 my friend Emma was born. Mommy hasn't met her yet, but she has seen pictures and she is very pretty. Daddy had to work all weekend, so Mommy spent lots of time with Mac, Clover, and Holly. I had fun when Mommy would try to relax, and I would make sure to move around lots for her. Then on Tuesday Mommy and Daddy had dinner with their friends Jenn and Jeremy. Jenn has a baby in her tummy too, my friend Josiah. He will only be there for a few more weeks. Our daddies took pictures of the mommies with their big bellies. It will be fun to look at when we are bigger. Yesterday was July 4th. Mommy and Daddy didn't go to see fireworks this year, they just watched them on TV. This was okay with me, I go wherever Mommy goes.
Mommy is busy making a list of things that she wants done before I arrive. Daddy is worried about this nesting because he says that it looks like it will make him very tried. Little does he know that when I get here I'll just have fun making lots of messes.
Mommy and Daddy are tried, so I guess I'll let them get to bed.

Gideon

My room

Last weekend was very exciting for Mommy and Daddy. I got Mommy and Daddy up very early on Saturday morning. They cleaned and organized the garage, and then started working on the basement. Daddy says that Mommy is doing something called "nesting" I think it sounds silly. Then they started working on my crib. Mommy and Daddy were getting frustrated. So, Pop-Pop and Bubbie came over for dinner and Pop-Pop and Daddy finished putting my crib together. They then moved the rest of the furniture into the room and put my hutch together. Mommy was so excited she couldn't wait to start organizing the room. I told Mommy that she'd better get some sleep. So, on Sunday she worked on getting the room organized. She has most of my clothes clean and is working on getting everything put away in the drawers. Daddy wants to get me a nice wooden bookshelf for my room. I have a white one, but Daddy thinks a wooden one would look nicer. Mrs. Susie (Mommy's friend, not my cousin) is going to recover my chair for my room. I am so excited. My Gramma is making a valence for my window, a diaper stacker, and boppy covers. They are all going to match my room. I am so lucky to have so many people that love me already.
On Monday Mommy had to drink some really sweet stuff. It really woke me up and I was kicking up a storm. Mommy was very happy to see that the test went well and we don't have to worry about gestational diabetes.
Yesterday, Mommy and Daddy had dinner with Uncle Paul and his girlfriend Brittany. Uncle Paul is going to teach me all about playing video games. I bet he'll even let me play with the Wii, but maybe by the time I'm big enough to play there will be an ever newer system.
Today Bubbie and Mrs. Karen had lunch with Mommy and Daddy and dropped off Mac and Clover. Holly is helping to take care of them while Bubbie and Pop-Pop go on vacation.
The summer is flying by and I'll be here before you know it. Mommy thinks that I'll be born in the summer. If I'm on time it will still be summer, if I'm late (which Mommy really hopes I'm not) it could be fall.

Gideon

3rd Trimester

This week Mommy has entered into the third trimester. Isn't this so exciting. I'll be here before you know it. I'm having a lot of fun growing in Mommy's tummy. Mommy says that not only am I going to be a soccer player, but I will also be a gymnast too. I really like to do somersaults. I don't really like staying in one place for too long.
Last weekend Mommy and Daddy were very busy. On Thursday Pop-Pop called and told Daddy that my furniture was in. So Daddy finished the painting, put up the border in the room, and Mommy and Daddy did some cleaning. Then on Friday Pop-Pop brought my furniture and mattress. Mommy is so excited. Daddy is going to clean the carpet in the room and then Uncle Paul is coming over this weekend to move it all into the room. Then Mommy can work on finishing the decorations.
Last weekend was also my Gramma's birthday, my cousin Michael's birthday, and Daddy's day. We had lots of fun with all of the family. I can't wait to meet them. My cousin's Michael, Susie, and Isabella are going to be so much fun to play with. I can't wait. They are bigger than me, so they will be able to teach me a lot of really cool things.
I also had fun trying to play with Holly. She was sitting on Mommy's lap and I was kicking her. She wasn't sure what to do. Mommy and Daddy were laughing.
Mommy is getting really excited. Some of my friends are going to be born soon. Emma (her Mommy works with my Mommy) might be born as early the next few days. Josiah (her Mommy went to school with my Mommy) only has about 6 more weeks.
I only have about 13 more weeks. Mommy says that she wants everything ready in about the next 3 weeks, so we'll see if I let her keep that goal.

Gideon

The Beach

Mommy and Daddy did more traveling this weekend. Saturday was Daddy's birthday, so Mommy took him to Rehoboth Beach, DE. They had a lot of fun. I liked it when Mommy was relaxing on the beach. They also played putt-putt a lot, but I was sleeping through that part. On Sunday Mommy and Daddy had dinner with Bubbie and Pop-pop to celebrate Daddy's birthday. He is 26 years old and I am 26 weeks old, I think that is really cool. While Mommy and Daddy were on vacation, Uncle Paul was at our house taking care of Holly. Holly got lots of special treats from Uncle Paul. Uncle Paul got back from Italy last week. He brought me really cool clothes. I can't wear them until I'm a little bit bigger, but they are green, just like what Uncle Paul wears. I think we're going to have a lot of fun.
This week I can open my eyes and move my head. It's so exciting. This week, also marks that the countdown until I made my grand entrance is now in double digits (no more triple digits here.) Mommy says that some times it feels like I am swimming inside of her tummy. It is really fun. Mommy really wanted to let me show off for Bubbie and Pop-pop, but I was being silly and sleeping. Mommy hopes I'll let them feel my kicks this weekend.
I am making Mommy's tummy bigger and bigger, I really do like to have a spacious room, but it seems to be getting smaller as I get bigger. Mommy will post pictures soon, Daddy left the camera at work.
Love always,
Gideon

Week 25

This past weekend Mommy and Daddy were really busy. On Saturday Bubbie and Mommy went shopping while Daddy and Pop-pop put the chair rail up in my room and they installed my ceiling fan. My room is almost done. Daddy just has to touch up the chair rail and put up the border, then we're just waiting for my furniture. Mommy can't wait until that comes in so she can really finish decorating the room. Clover and Mac came over too to play with Holly; I think they had fun. Then on Sunday Mommy and Daddy went to Daddy's cousin Jeremy's wedding. It was a very beautiful wedding, even if the weather was being silly. I got to see Daddy's family. I showed Gramma and Pop how much I can kick. My cousin Isabella was rubbing Mommy's tummy. I can't wait until we can play. I really liked the music, I was kicking when Jeremy sang to Alana, and I really liked dancing the Hora. All of the music was so much fun. I can't wait to meet everyone in person. Mommy and Daddy are now getting ready to go away again. They are going to take me to see the ocean. We are going to see the Atlantic Ocean. They said that they will take me to see the Pacific Ocean someday, it is so exciting. Pop-pop was in Chicago this week for his work, and he wants to take me to the museums there too. I'm going to get to do a lot of traveling. I'm so excited!

Gideon

Philadelphia!

This week Mommy took me to Philadelphia to the annual Physician Assistant conference. Mommy got to see some of her old friends, classmates, professors, and preceptors. Daddy was with us over the weekend, but he had to go back to work on Tuesday. Mommy went and learned all kinds of stuff that will help her with work. I made sure she was paying attention by kicking, wiggling and elbowing her. I had fun playing with Daddy, he would tap on Mommy's tummy and I would kick back. I also kicked when Daddy was humming to me and when Mommy put the phone on her tummy so Daddy could talk to me. Daddy can't wail until I am bigger and he can bring me back to Philadelphia, so he can show me everything that he saw on the trip. Did you know my Bubbie was born in Philadelphia? That must be why I really liked when Mommy ate her Philly cheesesteak (at least the first one she had.) I really liked the train ride. It was really calm and rocked me to sleep. I like to sleep. Mommy hopes that I continue to work on the routine of being asleep at night and awake during the day with naps. I did pretty well when she was at the conference and then went back to my old ways once Mommy got back to work.
This week my ears are fully developed. Daddy says that he hopes I have Mommy's hearing, not his. Mommy and Daddy like to sing to me. They hope that I'll like singing too.
Well Mommy says that she is getting sleepy. I woke her up at 4:30am and wouldn't let her go back to bed. I am really good at getting my way already:)

Gideon

23 weeks

Another week closer to being able to enter the world and meet everyone. I am continuing to practice my kicking skills, and have started to react to sounds from the outside world. I really didn't like Mommy going to the dentist on Monday. That suction thingy was a little scary for me. I got really excited when Daddy was talking to me and gave me a kiss, so I kicked him in the nose. Mommy was laughing. I was just letting him know that I could hear him.
This past weekend Mommy and Daddy got together with some of Mommy's family. I can't wait to meet them all in person!
Mommy and Daddy have been really busy this week. They are getting ready to go to Philadelphia. Mommy is going to a conference and Daddy is coming along for the weekend. They told me they are going to go to a tour of the city. I hope that they will take me when I am older. Next time Mommy will have to tell you all about my first train trip.

Gideon

My first blog

Hey there everyone. This is my first blog. My Mommy set up this site for me so that I can share everything going on with me. i am going to try to update this weekly so that you'll know what is going on with me. Mommy's friend Mrs. Jennifer has a site all about her baby Josiah. I think we are going to be good friends.
I'm really showing Mommy how much I can kick. We went to see Uncle Paul sing last weekend and I was kicking during most of the show. My favorite time to kick is at night. I wake Mommy up early in the morning between 5-6am. Since I can't tell light from dark yet, Mommy says that she'll have a hard time teaching me that this is really early in the morning.
Today Mommy and I are at 22 weeks. We are over the half way mark! I have been really giving my Mommy a run for her money over the last 22 weeks. I still think that it is funny to make my Mommy sick. Every time she thinks it's better, I show her who's really boss. I don't like to woken up. One day Daddy was trying to talk to me, and I was sleeping, I got really mad and made Mommy sick. They had to wake me up during my nap time at the ultrasound a few weeks ago. I tried to let them know that I didn't want to be bothered and put my hands in front of my face. I also didn't really want to show them I was a boy, but I finally cooperated.
Well I think that I might go take a nap now.
Love always,
Gideon (and Heather & Jon too)
